The Area

The Sportland Inn is located in Unterpeischlach in the Isel valley, 16 km from the sunny town of Lienz, surrounded by the majestic mountains of East Tirol. The area is one of the most pristine and least populated areas in the Alps. If you are a nature lover, one of the must sees is the Hohe Tauern National Park, the largest national park in Central Europe. You can also find Austria’s highest mountain, the Großglockner mountain, the Dolomites, the Defereggental- and the Hochpustertal valley in the close distance. The Galitzenklamm canyon is a well-known and popular tourist destination, located a few kilometers away, near the village of Amlach.

Austria's East Tyrol region is the perfect place for those looking for active relaxation in winter season. There are eight different ski resorts around the hotel, you can choose between comfortable long slopes, wide glacier or steep competition runs and fun parks. During a ski trip, it is worth visiting and experiencing different slopes in the different systems. For those who prefer other than downhill experience, we recommend cross-country skiing, toboggan runs, winter hiking trails, baths or horse drawn sleigh rides.
