Fishing, fly fishing and adventure fishing
When fly-fishers travel hundreds of kilometers from Italy, Switzerland and Holland to East Tyrol just to go fishing, you can make sure it is something special here.
And they admit it – fly-fishers are inspired by the opportunities which the Isel and the little Drau offer. East Tyrol has always been a paradise for anglers and fishermen. From the wild and romantic mountain streams through to the somewhat more calmer waters of the rivers heading out of the valley – 33 different fish species live in East Tyrol.
Fishing places within 10 km around the hotel:
Matrei, Kals am Grosglockner, Ranacher, St Johann im Walde.
Virgental, Obersee, Sillian, Stausee, Klapfsee und Dorfentalbach.
Of great interest to true fishermen is the fact that in East Tyrol ‘adventure fishing’ is indeed possible. Where else can you swing your fly rod at around 2500 meters altitude in the emerald green lakes?
